St. Vincent Charity Medical Center offers care for many types of emergencies through our Main Campus Emergency Department, ER Fast Track Service, Psychiatric Emergency Department and Solon Urgent Care.

MAIN CAMPUS EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

Conveniently located in downtown Cleveland, the Emergency Department at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center offers care for many types of emergencies.

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center’s Emergency Department is open 24-hours-a-day, seven days a week, for those seeking medical attention.

You can count on our team of highly trained and dedicated professionals, staffed by TeamHealth, to provide you with the immediate, comprehensive care that you need during an emergency. Certified by The Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center, emergency care is provided at our main campus and is easily accessed from downtown and the surrounding community.

The Emergency Department utilizes 24,000 square feet and offers private exam rooms, allowing for better communication between medical staff and patients, faster treatment times as well as the inclusion of families and loved ones in support of that healing process. Annually, they provide care for more than 29,000 patients for illnesses and injuries ranging from ear infections to heart attacks.

Caregivers in our emergency department embody and embrace the mission and values of St. Vincent Charity. Our main Campus Emergency Department is able to administer care to both adults and children. All of St. Vincent Charity’s Emergency Department Caregivers are Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified.

Free, temporary parking is available outside the emergency department entrance, located near the intersection of East 22nd and Community College Ave. After the patient has been registered, please relocate to the main parking lot or take advantage of the hospital’s convenient valet service.

ER FAST TRACK SERVICE

For those with less serious illnesses and injuries, our the ER Fast Track Service guarantees to get those who live, work, learn or play in downtown Cleveland in and out in 90 minutes or less.  

When you have a less serious illness or injury, waiting in an emergency room is the last thing you want to do.

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center ER Fast Track Service, available at the Main Campus, guarantees you’ll be in and out of hospital in 90 minutes or less. The Fast Track Service at St. Vincent Charity offers an alternative to emergency care for minor illnesses and injuries, without the wait.

Whether you live, work or visit downtown Cleveland, our Fast Track Service ensures you’ll be out the door sooner than going through an emergency department. Staffed by a team of dedicated professionals, Fast Track Service is available from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.

PSYCHIATRIC EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT

When you or a loved one has a psychiatric emergency, St. Vincent Charity Medical Center has a resource. Our Psychiatric Emergency Department, one of only two in the state, is uniquely equipped to handle patients experiencing psychiatric emergencies.

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center is home to one of only two Psychiatric Emergency Departments in the state of Ohio, and offers psychiatric care 24 hours a day. Staffed by a team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, psychiatric social worker and mental health technicians, our facility is known throughout the region for our expertise in behavioral health.

The Psychiatric Emergency Department fields referrals from all other area hospitals and mental health facilities, for adult clients who suffer from acute mental health issues. It serves as a crisis center, providing a safety net for nearly 4,000 patients annually who need immediate behavioral health care in an emergency setting.

The Psychiatric Emergency Department has been designed to provide a respectful healing environment for patients, faithful to the hospital's mission of faith-based care. Private exam rooms allow for better communication between medical staff and patients, as well as the inclusion of families and loved ones in support of that healing process.

SOLON URGENT CARE

At our Solon Urgent Care, we have a trained staff to take care of life’s little bumps, bruises and illnesses weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
