St. Vincent Charity Medical Center Launches Centralized Access for Behavioral Health Services
St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, which is home to Rosary Hall – one of Ohio’s first and best hospital-based addiction treatment centers – today launched new centralized access to behavioral health inpatient services. “Centralized access offers a single point of entry to any of St. Vincent Charity’s 27 inpatient detoxification beds and 64 inpatient psychiatry beds,” said Megan Bush, MBA, LISWS, director of intake and access, behavioral health, SVCMC. “The new model promises a swift and linear intake process for referrals from other hospitals, SVCMC providers, external agencies and individuals seeking services on their own.” Referring partners, as well as community members with mental health questions, can call 216-363-2580 to reach centralized access, which is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. ...Continue →

St. Vincent Charity Medical Center has named Russell E. Spieth, Ph.D., as director of outpatient services at Rosary Hall, effective today. In this role, Dr. Spieth provides leadership and operational oversight of ambulatory addiction treatment services, as well as staff and program development for the expanding continuum of Rosary Hall. The $2.89 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration will expand and extend the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in partnership with and alongside the long-standing SVCMC Addiction Medicine Fellowship. Biscaro, Psy.D., ABPP (Forensic) to the newly created post of chief clinical officer of behavioral health & addiction medicine, effective January 6, 2020. In this position, Dr. Biscaro will serve an integral role in improving access for Rosary Hall detoxification and outpatient programs, inpatient adult and geropsychiatry, and psychiatric emergency department. St. Vincent Charity Offers Free Uber Transportation for Rosary Hall Addiction Patients
St. Vincent Charity Medical Center has launched a pilot program offering free Uber transportation for addiction patients participating in Rosary Hall’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). The program creates greater access to those seeking treatment for addiction, including opioid and alcohol, and increases a patient’s chances for success. “We know one thing with certainty – Rosary Hall’s intensive treatment program works. On Sunday, June 25, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) hosted a press conference at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center to stand against the Senate’s draft bill to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The repeal bill eliminates Medicaid expansion and includes additional cuts to Medicaid, a vital tool in addressing the opioid addiction crisis in Ohio.
