HospiceWhen cancer treatments prove to be ineffective in fighting the disease, and all known medical treatments have been used, the doctor may recommend hospice care. When the patient and family agree to proceed with hospice, the doctor or his staff will refer the patient to a hospice care provider. Hospice provides end of life care for terminally ill patients and their families and makes sure all the patient's needs are met. Their services are 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
