This advancement also provides new capabilities for the Center for Bariatric Surgery by introducing laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery. Patients who meet selection criteria for bariatric surgery may be candidates for the minimally invasive approach to the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure. The Center for Bariatric Surgery at St. Vincent Charity Hospital is one of the most established programs of its kind. More gastric bypass surgeries have been performed here than at any other hospital in the region. Our Newest SurgeonSt. Vincent Charity Hospital is pleased to announce the most recent addition to our general surgical staff, Aviv Ben-Meir, MD, Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery. A Cleveland native, Dr. Ben-Meir has demonstrated interest involving the application of minimally invasive approaches to general surgery. Dr. Ben-Meir received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine with honors and then completed his General Surgery residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He completed his advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery training at the University of Virginia School of Medicine in Charlottesville, Virginia. | ||
