Medical Emergency Department

Psychiatric Emergency Department

The state-of-the-art Psychiatric Emergency Department, one of only two in the state, is known throughout the region for its expertise in behavioral health. Staffed by a team of psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses 24 hours a day, it fields referrals from all other area hospitals and mental health facilities, for adult clients who suffer from acute mental health issues. It serves as a crisis center, providing a safety net for nearly 4,000 patients annually who need immediate behavioral health care in an emergency setting.

Newly Renovated

Recently completing $6.9 two-year renewal and reconstruction of both the medical emergency department and the psychiatric emergency department, it was expanded by 24,000 square feet and was modernized to reflect expectations for care today and to provide a respectful healing environment, faithful to the hospital's mission of faith-based care. Private exam rooms allow for better communication between medical staff and patients, faster treatment times as well as the inclusion of families and loved ones in support of that healing process.

Board-Certified Staff

A team of board-certified emergency medicine physicians, physician assistants and specially trained nurses staff our Emergency Department around the clock. Annually, they provide care for more than 29,000 patients for illnesses and injuries ranging from ear infections to heart attacks.
