New Member Joins St. Vincent Charity Hospital Community Board

Cleveland, OH (October 2007) – St. Vincent Charity Hospital recently named Jeffrey Tengel to its Community Board.

Established in 1996, the Community Board was created to ensure that the Hospital’s mission of providing quality, faith-based care to all remains a top priority. The Board is comprised of respected community leaders and Hospital senior administrative staff members.

“Jeffrey Tengel joins us with expertise in financial services and corporate banking,” said Jeffrey S. Jeney, President and CEO, St. Vincent Charity Hospital. “His experience in advisory roles will enhance our existing Community Board and further advance the fulfillment of our Hospital’s mission.”

Tengel, who serves as executive vice president of Commercial Banking activities in the national markets, leads Capstone Realty Advisors, National Commercial Real Estate, Equity Sponsor Group, and National City Equity Partners, to name a few. He previously served as chief credit officer for Wholesale Banking and holds a place on the Advisory Committee for the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.

As a member of the St. Vincent Charity Hospital Community Board, Tengel will have an advisory role in:

• Reviewing the quality assurance, risk management, peer review and utilization reports of the Hospital’s Medical Staff, and reviewing any associated recommendations from Hospital management for educational activities or corrective action plans.
• Overseeing compliance with all JCAHO standards relating to the Hospital’s Medical Staff and Departments
• Working alongside the Hospital’s Board of Directors and Medical Executive Committee to evaluate the qualifications of practitioners applying for appointment or reappointment to the Medical Staff, or renewal or modification of clinical privileges.
• Reporting and making recommendations to the Hospital’s Board of Directors following each Community Board meeting.
