St. Vincent Charity Hospital Supporters Honored with Philanthropy Award

Cleveland (October 2004) – St. Vincent Charity Hospital has chosen Melvin Pye Jr. and Terry Poltorek as honorees for National Philanthropy Day, an event that acknowledges an array of services provided by the nonprofit community and recognizes the profound impact that philanthropy has on the fabric of society. Many groups, associations and organizations around the nation use this day to honor individuals who have made significant philanthropic contributions.

Currently a member of the UHHS/CSAHS – Cuyahoga, Inc. Partnership Board, Pye is recognized for his contributions to the Hospital through his chairmanship of the St. Vincent Charity Hospital Community Board, as well as his chairmanship of the Hospital’s Capital Campaign Feasibility Study. Pye has also been a generous supporter of St. Vincent Charity Hospital’s bi-annual benefit, PIZAZZZ. He is president and chief executive officer of Fairfax Place.

Poltorek, president of HP Manufacturing, is recognized for his long time support of the Hospital and significant role in the success of PIZAZZZ. Poltorek also is a long-standing member of the Hospital’s Community Board.

St. Vincent Charity Hospital’s Community Board is comprised of respected community leaders who ensure that the Hospital’s mission of providing quality faith-based care to all is always a hospital priority.

Pye and Poltorek will be honored at the Association of Fundraising Professionals Cleveland Chapter luncheon, Friday, Nov. 12, at the LaCentre Conference Center in Westlake.
