AIM-HIGH for Heart Health at St. Vincent Charity HospitalLocal hospital participates in national cholesterol and heart disease studyCLEVELAND – Feb. 25, 2008 – The St. Vincent Charity Hospital Center for Vascular Health is seeking volunteers for a national study to determine the safety and effectiveness of two different treatments for high cholesterol and heart disease. Called AIM HIGH, the study is sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. Patients must be 45 years old or older and have high cholesterol to qualify for AIM HIGH. Study participants will receive free cholesterol medications, cardiac risk factor education and thorough follow up.
