Participants Needed for AIM HIGH Clinical Trial

Aim High

Have you had a heart attack, stroke or vascular disease?

Are you age 45 or older?
Do you have high cholesterol?

If so, you may qualify for the National Institutes of Health’s AIM HIGH trial, a study to determine whether raising "good cholesterol" with a drug based on the vitamin niacin, while lowering "bad cholesterol" with a statin drug, can prevent more heart disease than the statin alone.

All eligible participants will receive, at no cost:

  • Cholesterol medications (Zocor and possibly Niaspan and Zetia)
  • Nutrition and cardiac risk factor education
  • Thorough follow-up

For more information, please call Mariellen or Tania at The Center for Vascular Health at St. Vincent Charity Hospital at 216.363.2732.
